If you've been playing Bird Strike and are looking for more avian-themed games, then give Angry Birds Lite a try.
Your mission in this raucous iPhone game is to destroy all the green pigs by catapulting birds at them. This wouldn't be too difficult, except for the fact the hogs are holed up inside fortified castles which you need to smash into in order to enter. As the levels progress, these fortresses become ever more impenetrable, so Angry Birds requires a bit of lateral thinking as well as a steady aim.
To fire a bird you simply pull back on the catapult, adjust the trajectory, then release your finger. You can shoot four birds per turn, and if you don't destroy every pig then you'll have to start the level again. There are just 12 levels to play in this Lite version of Angry Birds, but you'll find more than 150 levels across several worlds, in the full game. There's also Angry Birds Free, which has 15 completely new levels not found in the full game.
As well as being great fun to play, Angry Birds Lite looks the part too. Graphics are colorful and fun, and the bird noises and sound effects are hilarious.
One of the few criticisms we have of Angry Birds Lite is that you're left waiting too long for the level to load again when you retry.
Angry Birds Lite is enjoyable enough to put a smile on the face of even the most sullen iPhone gamer.
